Lakesde Junior  High School's staff has a commitmnt to doing whatever it takes to improve student learning by studying and honing  instructional practices.  Staff members as individuals respond that they believe that all students with the proper support, can learn and they understand that those supports must come from what happens in the classroom.  The curriculum used by our staff has been upgraded and our staff and students both have high expectations.  As a results, over the last several years, our students and staff have made outstanding improvements in student achievement on ISAT's and other assessments.

At Lakeside Jr. Sr. High School, students are provided every opportunity to prepare for their futures.  Our school offers a GEAR UP program, providing students with college and career readiness and access beginning in 7th grade.  Our high school has developed Professional Technical Program, offering our students education and training in Food Production Management, Ag Science/Welding and Business Technology with the opportunity to earn college credits in these areas.  We offer many opportunities for our students such as tailored remediation classes, paraprofessionals available in most classrooms and accelerated and dual credit opportunities for those who need a challenge.  Students at Lakeside Jr. Sr. High School attend an advisory class every day where they work together to form supportive relationships and build college and career readiness skills.  The advisory program also focuses on community building and service learning.

Students at Lakeside have the opportunity to be involved in many different extra-curricular activties including National Honor Society, GEAR UP, Knowledge Bowl, BPA, FCCLA and ASB.  Our Lakeside Knights offer students an opportunity to learn and grow in sports including football, volleyball, basketball, golf and track.  The Knight make regular appearances at state level competitions   Girl basketball team qualified for the state tournament.  The girls basketball team brought home another 4th place trophy.  We had a student qualify for state in Track and Golf.
